Coming from an established enterprise organization with over 800 engineers, who work predominantly with REST, we had a big challenge rolling out our federated GraphQL ambitions at scale in a distributed (micro)service landscape. Besides tech, our journey was also about changing how people work, building expertise and create a strong GraphQL community, for both engineers and product, and getting them invested in our GraphQL journey. We will share with you our hurdles, lessons learned and painful roadblocks and share with you what we wish we knew when we started, so you are well prepared when you start your own GraphQL adoption journey at scale after this talk.
